- Inscription on front pastedown: Edward Scudamore M.D. St George's Place Canterbury. Most respectfully presented to the Redd[?] Dean & Chapter for the Library of the Cathedral. June 21 1841 [repeated on rear pastedown].
- Binding: 17th-century calf with a double fillet round the edges and a double fillet 4 cm from the spine.
