Samuel Lisle (1683–1749) was Archdeacon of Canterbury 1724-1748 and canon (Stall VII) in 1728; he became Warden of Wadham College, Oxford, in 1739, Bishop of St Asaph in 1744, and the Bishop of Norwich in 1748.
