William Douglas Springett

Canon William Douglas Springett D.D. (1850–1928) was installed as an Honorary Canon of Canterbury in 1919. He had been a curate in Hackington (1876–1883), vicar of Hernhill (1883–1892), rector of West Tarring with Dorrington, Worthing (1892–1898),[1] vicar of St Matthew's, Brixton (1898–1905)[2] and rector of Pluckley from 1905. He died in 1928. Dr Springett published a history of his family in 1890.[3]
His armorial bookplate has the motto 'Memor et fidelis'.
