Augustus Pugin

Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin (1812–1852) was a Victorian architect specialising in the neo-Gothic revival. He lived at Ramsgate.

His 'seal' bookplate, found in the following volume, is typical of his gothic design work.

Inscription on front free endpaper: Presented by the Rev. [name crossed out: L.B. Stretton??; in a different hand:] H. W. Watkins. Warden of St. Augustine's Oct. 1878.
