Charles Sandys

Charles Sandys F.S.A. (1786–1859), a Canterbury solicitor and antiquary, used the Cathedral Library and Archives for research on Kentish legal history.

His writings included A Critical Dissertation on Professor Willis's ‘Architectural History of Canterbury Cathedral’ (1846), A concise history of Reculver, Kent, from the time of the Romans to that of Henry VIII (1850), and Consuetudines Kanciae: a history of Gavelkind and other remarkable customs in the county of Kent (1851).[1]
