Christopher Beeke

Christopher Beeke (c. 1709–1798) was born at Strood, Kent, son of Henry Beeke, a gardner. He was educated the cathedral school at Rochester and then at St John's College, Cambridge, (matriculated 1726; B.A. 1729/30; M.A. 1740). He was ordained deacon in 1731 and priest in 1733. He was under-master at Rochester School and perpetual curate of Strood (1733-36), vicar of Stockbury (1737) and then vicar of Kingsteignton, Devon (1737-1798).[1]
