Sir Edward Bysshe, (1615 - 1679) was a member of various parliaments between 1640 and his death. He was appointed Garter King of Arms by the House of Commons in 1646. He was knighted and (controversially) made Clarenceaux King of Arms in 1661 for having preserved the library of the College of Arms. His library was sold in 1679 and 1681.[1]
His arms, which appear on his binding stamp, were a chevron between three roses.
