Edward Tenison

Edward Tenison (1673–1735) was educated at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge (1691; B.A. 1694/5), LL.B. (Lambeth) 1697, D.D. (Lambeth) 1714.[1] He was ordained deacon and priest in 1697 and presented the same year to the rectory of Wittersham, Kent, which he resigned in 1698 on being presented to the rectory of Sundridge (diocese of Rochester), which he held with the adjacent rectory of Chiddingstone. In 1705 he was made a prebendary of Lichfield Cathedral, resigning in 1708 on being appointed archdeacon of Caermarthen.[2] He was Canon of Stall I at Canterbury Cathedral from 1709 to 1731, when he was appointed Bishop of Ossory.[3]

His son Thomas (1702–1742) became a prebendary of Canterbury in 1739 (Stall V).[4]
