Eliab Harvey

Sir Eliab Harvey (1635–1699), nephew of the famous physician Dr William Harvey, was responsible for the foundation of the Harvey Grammar School, Folkestone, in 1674, acting as executor of the estate of his uncle. He was MP for various constituencies between 1669 and 1699.[1]

The Benefactors' Book (f. 107v) has an entry annotated with the date 1666 recording Harvey's gift of 25 pounds for the purchase of a 'Biblia maxima, in 19. tomis, in folio' (W/A-6-1/19).

In 1668 he bought another Bible (W/A-5-8).
