George Soaper is recorded as the editor or publisher of a facsimile reprint of The institucion of a gentleman (1568), printed in 1839 by Charles Whittingham. "The Advertisement is signed: G.S., i.e. George Soaper. 100 copies were printed for presentation only."

Inscription on second front free endpaper by the editor, George Soaper: Mr Soaper having understood from Mrs Sutherland that Mr Hussey is pleased to think favourably of the little book, "the Institution of a Gentleman", he begs his Acceptance of the Copy which accompanies this. Stoke, Guildford 19 Feby. 1841.
