John Duncombe (1729–1786) was educated at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge (1745, B.A. 1748, M.A. 1752, and later a fellow). He became Rector of St Andrew and St Mary Bredman, Canterbury (1757–1786); Vicar of Herne, Kent (1773), Master of Harbledown and St John's Hospital, and a Six Preacher (1766–1786).[1]
