Inscription on front pastedown: This book belongs to the Library of Christ Church Canterbury. Being the Gift of the Revd. Mr. John Duncombe, Rector of St Andrew's & St Mary Breadman's in the said City 1763.

John Duncombe was one of the translators, as was his father William who edited the volume.

Possibly given when John Duncombe was appointed a Six Preacher in 1766.
