Thomas Pierce (1632–1691) was appointed a Canon of Canterbury (Stall VII) on the Restoration in 1660. In 1656 he had been made a chaplain in ordinary to Charles II. He was President of Magdalen College, Oxford, from 1661 to 1672 and Dean of Salisbury from 1675.[1]

Some of his gifts were copies of his own works, probably given on publication. He continued to give books after his appointment to Salisbury.
