A selection of significant twentieth century donors of books to the Cathedral Library.

1904. Canon David Bruce Payne
Dr Bruce Payne was vicar of St George the Martyr, Deal (1868) and an Honorary Canon of Canterbury.

1904. Canon Frederick Charles Woodhouse
Woodhouse (1827–1905) was an Honorary Canon of Canterbury Cathedral from 1900 until his death in 1905.

1918–1939. Dr Charles Cotton, Deputy Librarian
Dr Charles Cotton OBE, FRSP(E), MRCS (1856–1939) was (honorary) Deputy Librarian 1918–1939. He gave a number of books to the Library.
1928. Archbishop Randall Davidson
Randall Davidson was Archbishop of Canterbury from 1903 to 1928.

1928. Canon William Douglas Springett
Dr Springett was installed as an Honorary Canon of Canterbury in 1919. He had been a curate in Hackington (1876–1883), vicar of Herne Hill (1883–1892), and rector of Pluckley from 1905. He died in 1928.
1938. Canon Frederick Macnutt
Frederick Brodie Macnutt (1873–1949), Canon of Canterbury Cathedral from 1938 to 1945, gave this book to the Library in the year of his appointment.

1939. Joan Somerville
Miss Somerville was the great-granddaughter of Dean Henry Alford. She gave a quantity of books inherited through her family.
