The altar book: containing the order for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist according to the use of the American Church. Boston, Massachusetts: 1896.
Printed presentation leaf: To the Cathedral of Christ Church Canterbury A.D. MDCCCXCIX — The Gift of Harold Brown and Daniel Berkeley Updike.
The gift of the American printer and typographical historian Daniel Berkeley Updike (1860–1941) and his cousin Harold Brown (1863–1900), son of the philanthropist John Carter Brown (1797–1874). Brown presumably visited the Cathedral while on a European tour shortly before his death.
The book was researched by Brown and Updike and was designed by Updike in the William Morris style at the Merrymount Press in Boston and printed by Theodore de Vinne in New York.
