- Inscription on front pastedown: Edward Scudamore M.D. St George's Place Canterbury. Most respectfully presented to the Library of Christ Church Cathedral June 21 1841.
- Edward Scudamore (1778–1850), a local medical practitioner, presented several books to the Cathedral Library at various times between 1839 and 1844.
