Marginal notes in William Somner's hand.
This book belonged in the sixteenth century to John Longland, Archdeacon of Buckingham 1544-1554 and 1559-1589. He made a gift of it in his last year, possibly to the next recorded owner, the unidentified Thomas Wood. It next belonged to John Ludd (d. 1649), headmaster of the King's School, Canterbury. It will then have passed to William Somner, a former pupil, along with other books from Ludd's library, and will have come to the Chapter Library with the books purchased from Somner's widow in 1669.
