Alexander Henderson (1791–1832) was the Surveyor of the Post Office in Edinburgh from 1819 to 1822. He had an extensive library and used an armorial bookplate and two armorial binding stamps, with the arms 'A cubit arm holding a mullet rayed ensigned with a crescent' with the motto 'Sola virtus nobilitat'. His library was sold in 1848.[1]
