Jack Maple

Percy 'Jack' Maple (1899–1983) worked as the Cathedral's bookbinder both before and after the second World War. Books which he bound before the war were typically signed 'P. Maple'; later he signed them with an 'M' within the year date.

He was succeeded by Jim Wayre.

Deposited with the parochial archives of St Clements, Sandwich, in 1958.
Bound by Jack Maple in the Cathedral Library bindery in 1967 (inscription at foot of front pastedown: '19M67').
