The Revd Thomas Brockman (1806–1846), the sixth son of Julius Brockman (rector of Cheriton and vicar of Newington), was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge (1824; B.A. 1828). Following his ordination in 1831, he became curate of Hythe, Kent (1831), vicar of Brenzet (1831), and vicar of St Clement's, Sandwich (1831–1846). He travelled in Southern Arabia under the patronage of the Royal Geographical Society and died in 1846, at Wadi Beni Jabor, in Muscat.[1]

The Chapter Library has a considerable number of books with the printed label Bequeathed by Rev. T. Brockman, late vicar of Saint Mary, Sandwich; this appears to be the same person. Many of these books also have the printed label of the Canterbury Clerical Book Society.

There is genealogical record of the Drake-Brockman family at http://gw3.geneanet.org/madunclehugh?lang=en;p=thomas+drake;n=brockman.
